Rumours are currently circulating that one of the most popular phones in history is being re-launched at Mobile World Congress this month.
Nokia’s 3310 is perhaps the best-loved, and is certainly one of the best selling, phones in history. The leak has come from Evan Blass, who first revealed the details earlier this week.
Blass has made leaked several tech stories to the press in recent years and has often been correct.
Nokia has so far refused to comment on the rumours.
The phone, originally released in 2000, will be sold as a way solving poor battery life in a rugged casing.
The new incarnation of 3310 will be sold for just €59 (Roughly £50.00). (which we can only hope will ship with a copy of Snake II preinstalled)
Phones made under the Nokia brand are now sold by HMD Global, a Finnish company that bought the rights to the name.
It’s unclear whether the revamped mobile phone will include any new smart features – or whether it will include the same low-res software that powered the original.
The budget mobile phone is rumoured to be announced at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, which begins on February 26th.
